There are about two thousand bars and restaurants in Zurich to please every
taste. One interesting noted by Zurich Tourism is the “Blinde Kuh”, “the
first restaurant to be run by blind people. Check all two thousand out on
www.zuerich.com/ or
drop them a note at
information@zuerich.com/ for specific requests.
Far removed from the mainstream in a former warehouse at Geroldstrasse 5 is
The Hive Club, formerly the illegal Katekombe. This is the place where the 25
-35 year olds can join the “buzzing Electonica parties featuring national and
international stars”. The dance floor is in the lower basement, while
the honeycombs on the upper floors offer a range of entertainment. Before you
go view their web site at

For now there is the holiday season with lots to see and do up until the New
Year arrives. There are the colorful Christmas Markets—from the largest
covered Christmas Market in Europe to the famous traditional market in the Old
Town. The Town itself is lit up with new Christmas lights on the
Bahnhofstrasse and traditional Christmas concerts and shows feature an
unmistakable Christmas ambience. Possibly you can take advantage of the “ZurichBreak”,
a special offer whereby you can stay for 3 nights and pay for only two.
There is also the “Musical Special” offered by Zurich Tourism where the
concert ticket and room are packaged. And, of course, the children can see
Santa Claus in the Fairytale World in the inner courtyard of the Swiss
National Museum. Lastly, there is Zurich’s lively New Year’s Eve where the
town puts on the largest New Year’s Eve party in Switzerland capped off with a
fireworks display.
