Hans Holbein the
Younger in Basel and London
By Bob
Enzel
Following Europe’s recognition
of Cezanne, Rembrandt and Mozart, we now we have Hans Holbein the Younger being
honored at Basel’s Kunstmuseum from April 1 through July 2, 2006. Hans Holbein
the Younger moves over to London’s Tate Museum for a second exhibition that runs
from September 28 – January 7, 2007. Holbein was appointed court painter to
Henry VIII…but you knew that. Each exhibition will feature Holbein paintings
created in Basel from 1515-1537 and those from London where he died in 1543.
