Historic Saratoga, New York, the town most people associate with thoroughbred horse racing,
offers many year-round activities and events. With its close proximity to the Adirondack Mountains, nearby
Vermont and New York’s Capitol City, Albany, any event that has to do with winter outdoor activity is generally
well attended.
The fourth annual Adirondack Sports & Fitness “Winter Sports & Healthy Living Expo”
taking place at the center Nov 19-20 is an event you won’t want to miss. According to Expo spokesperson, Mona
Caron, Expo is attracting many new exhibitors this year, and will cover everything from “Alpine and cross-country
skiing, snowshoeing, cross-training and travel, plus mind, body, spirit, fitness and green living all in a fun,
high-energy setting.”
Helping to promote Expo is Adirondack Sports magazine that is published by Darryl and
Mona Carson, a monthly free magazine with a circulation of 20,000 found at various retail outlets, including all
regional ski shops and ski mountains.
Some of the exhibitors taking park in Expo include Alpine Sport Shop, Bromley Mountain,
Vt., Cunningham’s Ski Barn, Oak Mountain Ski Center, NY, Okemo Mountain Resort, Vt., Hickory Hill, and NY. West
Mountain, NY., Willard Mountain, NY., Stowe Mountain Resort, Vt., Gore Mountain Ski Area, NY., Whiteface Mountain
Ski Area, NY., Cascade Cross Country Center and Lapland Lake Nordic Vacation Center, NY.
Caron says they try and have well balanced mix of exhibitors, which means if you don’t
ski, you can visit booths that feature bicycling, Wolfpack Training, American Laser Skincare and H20 Solutions
care, Protective Chiropractic, and many others.
Show hours are Nov. 19, from 10am to 6 PM, and Nov 20 from 10 am to 4 PM. Admission $5 for adults and children
18 and under, free.
