If you’re a lighthouse fanatic Quebec should be on your list of travels. The Quebec Maritime has a neat little brochure-map identifying 43 lighthouses which separates them into two categories–those with and those without activities.
Of the 18 with activities six provide sleeping accommodations and four also offer food. The Ile Verte lighthouse even has a kitchenette allowing visitors to prepare their own meals.
Travel from lighthouse to lighthouse and view the St. Lawrence waterway as you’ve never seen it. Follow the shore line and take an occasional ferry–you won’t see them all—it’s a long haul–but you might make a dent.
A good place to start is by contacting Le Quebec maritime; 84 rue Saint-Germain Est, bureau 305; Rimouski, Quebec G5L 1A6 or accessing their web site www.quebecmaritime.ca/
